Boston Apartment Guide: South End

South End

South End brownstones

The South End — not to be confused with South Boston or ‘Southie’ — is a charming residential neighborhood full of old brownstones and local shops. Located very close to the Back Bay neighborhood, it feels miles away from the city center with its cobblestone streets and brownstone homes. Parking here is mostly street parking requiring a permit, but many residents don’t bother keeping a car in the city. South End used to be known as a popular LGBTQ area, but nowadays people of all stripes call it home.
