Boston Apartment Guide: Seaport

Boston Seaport

The Seaport is Boston’s newest neighborhood, having been massively developed in recent years. Many well-known companies have offices here including Amazon, Chewy, PWC, and Google. In addition, many luxury high-rise apartments and condos have sprung up around these high-paying jobs.

The Seaport is less accessible by public transportation. The Silver Line (which is a bus, not a train) does make several stops as it passes through here, connecting to downtown and South End. Getting to and from the Airport is also very convenient from the Seaport. However, you will need to take a bus or silver line to connect to the main T subway lines. The Red Line stop at South Station is about a 1/2 mile walk.

So much of the seaport is brand new, so it has a very bright and shiny quality to it. The shops tend to be upscale, but not as many major brands as the Copley area. Kings Bowling is a popular entertainment and nightlife spot. Nearby, the Leather District has older loft buildings and art galleries, dive bars and more restaurants (including 2 from the famous Boston chef Barbara Lynch).
